Hi.. I'm back!!!

Hi there!!!
I am back.. from where you ask??? Where did I go??? Well that's a long story...Will come to it soon...My last blog post was on July 19, 2008... Few days back (August 5, 2009) I came across an unfinished post and had published it, so I am not considering that as a valid entry...So its almost after a year ... After another birthday !!!! What I had been doing all these days??? Seems like a different life now... so much has happened... so much has changed...

To start with, my name has changed.. surname to be precise ! !! No prizes for guessing -Yes, I have got married !!!! Now the next question that has popped in your head is -
"Is it that guy she has written about in the blog?"
If you know me personally, then you know the name... if you don't, I bet you are scrolling down to check the name of the guy!!! I will save you that effort, it is Amit !!! We got married on 25th November, 2008...Wedding is such a huge event... so much planning and preparations had to be done...Don't know how the days flew by and the final day arrived!!! Those three days were really hectic...

We started a new life together... Its such a different feeling really, especially for girls... you have to leave the place where you have grown up, your parents...Everything is new-the people, surroundings, eating habits... There are so many things you have to learn from scratch... but it really helps if you know your husband beforehand...Its a very comforting feeling.... Amit has always been a great help in this regard and his parents have always been very affectionate...

But before we could get settled in this new life, Amit got a project in US...After many a discussion we decided to take the offer....Was not quite easy... We had to leave our families behind...Amit still was used to it by now.. being away from home during college days then in his professional life...but it was the first time for me.....He used to counsel me from the very beginning that life will not be the same for me here.. but I was adamant.. I was not going to let him come alone..We had lived apart for so long.... didn't want to go through that pain again....I had to leave my job, we had to wind up everything...leave our rented flat (the flat where I had first stepped in as a new bride), ...get my passport done, VISA interviews, shopping for warm clothes, packing etc... everything had to be done in such a hurry...

and then.. on January 26, 2009.. we were in US... ready to start a new innings...everything was so new and alien to me, except Amit... he took care to make me comfortable in his own thoughtful ways...I really would not have managed it without him.. Well on second thoughts I wouldn't have been here if it had not been for him !!!!

Now that I have time in my hands, I thought I can go back to writing...
So here I am, back...the same old me
Only that-
Madhurima Majumdar has changed to Madhurima Das
Location- Salt lake, Kolkata India changed to Frederick, Maryland, USA
And
I have learned cooking!!!! (that's the biggest achievement for me after coming to US!!!)
So there's high chance that his blog might become a recipe blog in the future... not that I have become an expert....but have to keep the record of all the recipes I have tried till date-from net (thanks to google.com... what an amazing discovery!!!) and recipes from the mails that my dad so painstakingly types, dictated by my mom... the recipes that I jot down on the back of envelopes, kitchen tissues, napkins when I talk to moms back home!!!
